Our Community's Challenge

People locally and around the world struggle to have enough to eat for themselves and their families.  Inadequate nutrition leads to health decline and delayed or incomplete development in children and adolescents.

How We Took Action

The Rotary Club of Toronto West and our partners have arranged ongoing food packing events in which bags containing the ingredients for a nutritionally complete rice casserole are packed and shipped to food banks to be distributed to those who need them.  Each bag will feed a family of six, and each box shipped contains 36 bags.  At a typical food packing event, 50 or more boxes will be prepared, providing 12,528 meals.   For 2019, we anticipate providing at least 38,000 meals in total.

Using The Campaign

Our events are promoted before and after through social media with images such as those featured below, and the success of the events are reported on our website.
