2016 Rotary International Convention in Seoul Korea May 28 - June 1, was the main topic of our upcoming district governor and our featured speaker Jim Louttit on May 5. Rotary’s international reach will be on display at the 2016 Rotary International Convention in Seoul Korea May 28- June 1.

As many as 44,000 Rotarians from around the world will be there from over 200 countries and geographical areas, including at least 26 from District 7070.

Preceding the convention will be a World Water Summit on May 27, in which experts and Rotarians will brainstorm strategies for continuing Rotary’s commitment to sustainably improving water and sanitation around the world.  There will be a House of Friendship showcasing Rotary’s projects around the world, including a booth manned by Jim and fellow Rotarians dealing with microfinance in developing countries. Jim spent years as a senior Canadian bank executive in El Salvador and Peru helping small start-ups get the financing they needed to be successful.

Rotary International’s convention in 2018 will be in Toronto, and an organizing committee has already been planning it for the last 5 years. We look forward to being a part of its success!
